A Real-Life Example of
What it’s Like Working with TK Homes
February 20, 2025

At TK Homes, we pride ourselves on providing a 5-star experience to our homebuyers and sellers. We’ve shared previous articles that explain how we go about doing this, but this article is not one of those articles.
Below is an actual review from a recent couple that worked with TK Homes to purchase their first home. It is our amazing clients, just like this couple, that make us strive to provide the best possible experience we can.
A Real Review from a Real Client
We met Trevor through a friend who was also in the process of buying a house. I decided to join a house tour on a whim and that's when I saw Trevor in action. He was observant, and knowledgeable. So when it was my turn to start looking, I reached out to him. I should mention that he was not the first realtor I worked with but he was the one we closed a house with.
Touring:
He was never pushy but he was active in providing things to consider. For example, he mentioned that a house, despite south facing, is overshadowed by another building resulting in an icy entrance. I thought that was an astute observation that I wouldn't have thought of myself.
He was an active listener and paid attention to passing comments we made about places. For example, we once made a passing comment about floor plans and how it would affect our dog, furniture and living flow. From then on, he would provide insights regarding those comments.
Trevor seems to know a lot about code, appraisal value, house inspection, general cost of repairs, and he was very technically-minded. We left every house with an understanding of what it would cost to repair things, what might not be up to code, things that will be very easy to negotiate, and what to look for and be concerned about. It felt like a tour and house inspection all in one. He would actively check for electric panels, roofing, cracks, uneven floors, et cetera to the point that all we had to focus on were the floor plan and feel of the house. He would then brief us with things we might want to consider or repair.
One small but not insignificant detail is that he treated both me and my fiancé equally. He made sure to include her in all the conversations and answered all of her questions. He addressed her concerns no matter how big or small.
Responsiveness:
Trevor is punctual and very responsive. There were nights when we asked questions fully expecting to hear back the next day only to get a response within the hour. He was always on time for our tours and very understanding when we were not. He was willing to explain things in detail to ensure that we have a full understanding of whatever we had questions about.
After this experience, I feel like I can probably get my own real estate license. Furthermore, he was very studious about the properties, we always had a pretty good idea of the situation before making offers including whether or not there was any room for negotiations. There was even a time when he hunkered down at a coffee shop to do research just so we can have as much time as possible to consider making an offer to a property.
Closing Process:
I suppose most real estate agents would have to be knowledgeable about the closing process. Trevor was no exception. What he did excel at was his responsiveness, attention to detail, and experience. He definitely knew the tricks of the trade. But more importantly, he made sure that we fully understood the contracts, the situation, as well as what to expect. We never signed a contract without a full understanding of what it entailed. The contracts were also written with our protection in mind.
He is very well organized and never confused us with any of his other clients. He would remember details about each property despite how many we've seen and blurred together. He would check in with us at every due date especially since we wanted to close quickly. He was instrumental in forming our team all of which performed well. We quickly grew to trust him and his judgement.
Negotiation:
Trevor is able to assess a situation and form a plan of how to best negotiate. He was able to inform us of things that we could utilize at the negotiation table as well as things that we are practically guaranteed to us by some law or regulations. He was knowledgeable and well researched. Our offers were backed by actual data, his experience, research and fairness. Needless to say, we are very well pleased with our negotiation process.
In conclusion, Trevor is hard-working, knowledgeable and most of all, he cared about us rather than the sale.
